Natural Wonders and Picturesque Sights Within the Datca Peninsula

Datca is a port town in southwestern Turkey. It's situated on the narrow Datca Peninsula on the Aegean Sea. Within Datca lies an old neighborhood with stone roads and bougainvillea-covered walls. At the western tip of the peninsula, there are ancient Greek ruins, including an amphitheater and a temple to the goddess Aphrodite, that can be seen. Tour members will depart at 4:00 pm. from Datca. The route will then guide us to Symi Island. It’s known for its beaches, charming harbor, and the popular Symi Town, all surrounded by colorful neoclassical houses.

Today we will visit a quaint town and lovely bay area on the southern end of Symi Island. Here we will find Panormitis Bay. It is a large natural picturesque harbor, with calm waters, a tranquil atmosphere and is described by many as having the same characteristics of a lake. We will also visit Panormitis Monastery of the Archangel Michael, which is the main church of Symi Island and was built to honor Archangel Michael, the patron saint and protector of sailors. Here tour members can admire exquisite architecture in a beautiful and natural setting. The large 18th-century Venetian-styled building has the highest baroque bell tower in the world, and a wonderful courtyard decorated with exotic trees and plants can also be seen. At this location there are also two fascinating museums to discover showcasing exhibits such as silver icons, Russian epitaphs, and ecclesiastical utensils,ship models, folk art and Byzantine manuscripts. As many local people visit this religious landmark daily it is recommended to show respect to the sanctity of the church and not enter without wearing long shorts and covered shoulders. After enjoying some culture and the wonderful religious landmark we will visit St George Bay for a relaxing evening where the magic of nature and beauty have created a spectacular environment with blue seas and green vegetation. The beach within the bay is renowned as one of Greece’s most stunning beaches, and features a magnificant rocky background which rises 300 meters high. The natural wonder creates a breathtaking view for all visitors and the opportunity to swim in crystal-clear waters.

Panormitis Monastery of the Archangel Michael

Today we will spend the day at Nimos Island. The beautiful islet in the Dodecanese group of islands is completely uninhabited. It is located off the northern coast of the well known Symi Island which it is separated from by the narrow Diapori passage. During ancient times the small islet was known as Imos, and on the island there is the monastery of Panagia Ypakoi to admire. The island of Nimos along with the surrounding islets has been proclaimed an archaeological site by the Central Archaeological Council. This natural location is also referred to as the ‘Pearl of the sea' due to its authentic feel, blue mediterranean water and perfect conditions for swimming and snorkeling.&nbsp;

Our tour today will start by exploring Bozburun, a small seaside town situated on the coast of the Bozburun peninsula. It's well known for tourism, fishing, sponge diving, and the production of honey. The area is small, yet lovely and full of natural beauties, spectacular vegetation, and pristine waters. We will then enjoy the wonderful sights of Comcalik Bay. The location is pretty and is the perfect spot for swimming, sunbathing, and pure relaxation. It is well known as a quiet bay where the waters are extremely calm.

Today we will spend the day relaxing at Dirsekbuku Bay. The sheltered bay is connected to Marmaris, and lies in the southwest of Hisaronu Bay. This area is very popular with Blue Cruise tours due to its clear waters and soft sandy seabed. At the south side of the bay there is a small indented beach where many fishing boats can be seen stopping off to collect freshly made village bread, produced in authentic stone ovens. Here there is one small restaurant and an abundance of beauty and nature to admire. &nbsp;

Tour members can today see and discover one of the most beautiful and award-winning bays within Turkey. The country is filled with spectacular bays and beaches, but Aktur Bay, which is in Bodrum on the Datca Peninsula, is in a league of its own. This bay is home to pine-scented trees, a long sheltered sandy beach, and crystal-clear waters, perfect for tour members to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and soaking up the sun's hot rays. For our adventurous guests, you may decide to venture into the surrounding forest and hike up the hills to find some of the most spectacular views that overlook this picturesque bay.

We will spend the day at the breathtaking Aquarium Bay, which is located approximately 39 kilometers away from the center of Datca. There are many bays and beaches on the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts of Turkey that are referred to as aquariums, and this location lives up to its name. Also known as Gerence Bay the waters are pristine and almost glass like where tour members can watch all the sea creatures underneath the sea whilst swimming and snorkeling. This fabulous location has it all including beauty, nature, cleanliness, a relaxing atmosphere and an abundance of marine life.

&nbsp;The small town of Datca in the Southern Aegean, is the main town of the Resadiye Peninsula. It is a very scenic area of land, stretching for approximately 70 kilometers forming the boundary between the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. On the final day of the tour, we will depart from Datca at 9:00 a.m. Here tour members can see many sites and attractions, such as an old neighborhood with stone roads and bougainvillea-covered walls, along with quaint cafes and restaurants that will provide the perfect end to a fantastic tour.
